I know that everyone has an opinion and none of them are WRONG so lets hear it. I am trying to surprise someone with a wedding ceremony in a church like they always wanted. Okay here is the story.
Many years ago when they got engaged, they were planning a small church wedding with just a few friends and family. One of their parents got ill and the spouse was not also not able to care for them. So the couple took their wedding money and moved the parent in their home and cared for them for many years until death. During that time they went to the courthouse and got married (and was married by a minister) but never got their church wedding. They don’t even have a photo of the wedding day. It was year and years ago so I really want to do this. but how?
Now here are my plans and the questions.
I want to get her a nice outfit. She never had a wedding gown. And without having wedding photos, I thought a nice simple long dress with a bouquet and get her hair and make up done too. Then they would have a nice wedding photo of their special day.
There was no honeymoon so i thought maybe a weekend away, nothing crazy. Just something that they would enjoy without the pressures of “life”.
Should I do something different?
Where should I send them?
Where should I look for a dress for her (senior citizen but spunky)
Why kind of a hair style?
Flowers?
How much to reserve the church in 2019? (now 2021)
What other expenses am I forgetting?
Now for groom
Of course tux or just nice black suit right?
Boutonniere right? But what kind of flowers?
I could really use your help. It is 2019 (now germy 2021) and I really could use opinions on different things. What are my do’s and don’t s? What colors to look for? What colors to avoid?
