Mom’s Recipe Boxes and Books

( I had a HUGE post and now its gone. all the auto saves are empty too. That’s it…. I’m not happy. Oh well, I try again but it won’t be the same.)

Here is a couple pictures of my Mom’s recipe boxes. I have pictures of her recipes books too, just have to find them .

Mom and Granny taught me how to cook at the age of 4 years old. I would stand on a chair and make scrambled eggs and toast. They taught me the dangers that hide in the kitchen and I have my scars to prove that they were right. No… not scars at a young age…. they were later in life ( which is worse).

Here are the photos of her recipe boxes, they still have the price tags on them .  Man, I miss her ♥. I have so many recipes in my head and on paper. I’ll show you some of them as we go along.

Her books have turned yellow from the years, but they are priceless to me. Some of her recipes have spots of food on them and ink had started to run. I will NEVER try to rewrite them. I love them just as they are. There were a total of 8 boxes. All of them full of her families recipes. I recently had to throw away 2 of the boxes because the rust was getting bad. They were filled with so many recipes in french so they must have been from her mother.

Here are a few of her recipe boxes. I will share her books and these recipes as the days go by. There’s nothing like a “hug” from someone you’ve lost so many years ago. I’m sure she would give you a hug if she was meeting you for the first time. Everyone loved her.

I hope you will enjoy these as I do.

One of these are priced at  9 ¢ .

The outside of these are ugly, rusty, and warn but they are “priceless” to me.

.

One of these has red nail polish where one of us kids must have been interested in “Art” (Looking all sweet and innocent )

I can’t wait to start using these cards and her books. They are old recipes and I’m sure they won’t appeal to everyone, but I’ll make them to bring back memories.
